Privacy Policy

Thank you for your interest in our online presence. Protecting your personal data is very important to us. Below we would like to inform you about data protection in our company. Of course, we comply with the statutory provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and other applicable data protection regulations.

You can trust us with your personal data! Your data is encrypted and transmitted to us via digital security systems. Our websites are protected by technical measures against damage, destruction, or unauthorized access.

Subject of Data Protection

The subject of data protection is personal data. According to § 3 para. 1 BDSG, this includes any information about the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person, e.g. name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and, if applicable, usage data such as your IP address.

Scope of Data Collection and Storage

In general, it is not necessary to provide personal data to use our website. However, in order to provide our services, we may require your personal data — for example when sending information material or ordered goods, or when responding to individual inquiries.

If you commission us to provide a service or send goods, we generally collect and store your personal data only to the extent necessary to perform the service or fulfill the contract. This may require us to share your personal data with companies we use to provide the service or process the contract (e.g. transport or service providers).
If we intend to carry out any of the following actions, we will ask for your explicit consent before collecting or using your data:

  • Sending newsletters
  • Creditworthiness or age checks to enable our services or payment methods
  • Personalization of our website
  • Other services and offers that require your express consent to collect and use data

After the contract has been fully performed, your data will be blocked and deleted after the statutory tax and commercial retention periods, unless you have expressly agreed to any further use.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter with your e-mail address, we will use it beyond the contractual relationship for our own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe. Further information about our newsletter system (CleverReach) is provided separately in this Privacy Policy.

SSL / TLS Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. Data transmitted to us via this website cannot be read by third parties. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” in your browser’s address bar and the lock icon.

Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Supervisory Authority

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Data Protection Commissioner of the federal state where our company has its registered office.
A list of data protection officers and their contact details can be found here:
https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically based on your consent or a contract handed over to yourself or to a third party in a machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place where technically feasible.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device by your web browser. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.
Some are “session cookies,” which are deleted automatically at the end of your visit. Others remain stored until you delete them manually; these allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Please refer to your browser’s help section for details.

Collection and Storage of Usage Data

To optimize our website, we collect and store data such as the date and time of access, the page from which you visited us, and similar information. This is done anonymously, without personally identifying you. User profiles may be created using pseudonyms, but no link is made between the person behind a pseudonym and collected usage data. Cookies may also be used for this purpose (storing technical details like operating system, browser, IP address, referrer URL and time of access). This is done solely for statistical analysis to improve our web presence and is always anonymized or pseudonymized.

Contact Form

When you send us inquiries via the contact form, the data you provide (including contact details) will be stored to process your request and for follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.
Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). You may revoke your consent at any time by informal e-mail; data processing up to the time of revocation remains lawful. Data will be stored until you request deletion, withdraw consent, or the storage purpose no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

Inquiries by E-Mail, Telephone or Fax

If you contact us by e-mail, phone, or fax, we store and process your personal data (name, inquiry details) for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) b GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, otherwise on your consent (Art. 6 (1) a) and/or our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) f) in effectively handling inquiries. Data is stored until you request deletion, revoke consent, or the purpose no longer applies. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

CleverReach

We use CleverReach (CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany) to send newsletters. Your newsletter registration data (e.g. e-mail address) is stored on CleverReach servers in Germany or Ireland.

CleverReach allows us to analyze newsletter performance (e.g. open rates, link clicks, conversions). Details: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/funktionen/reporting-und-tracking/.

Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time (e.g. via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or by e-mail). Past processing remains lawful.
If you do not want analysis, unsubscribe from the newsletter.

We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with CleverReach to comply with legal requirements.

Purpose Limitation

We collect, process, and store your personal data only for the purposes for which you provided it. No transfer to third parties occurs without your explicit consent unless necessary to perform the service or fulfill the contract, or due to legal obligations/court orders.
Our employees and service providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection regulations.

Rights of Access and Withdrawal

You can request information about your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You may block, correct, or delete your data or revoke consent for its use at any time without giving reasons. Please contact the address stated in our Imprint. We are happy to answer any further questions about data protection and the processing of your personal data.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA, USA) to analyze website usage. Google uses cookies and other technologies. Information generated may be transferred to servers outside the EU (especially the USA). Google has committed to the EU-US Privacy Shield (see: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection_en).

We have taken steps to protect your data, including IP anonymization (anonymizeIp) and a Data Processing Agreement with Google. Your data will not be merged with other Google data to identify you.
You can opt out via:

For Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
You can manage or disable ad personalization: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/authenticated.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager to manage website tags. The Tag Manager itself does not use cookies or collect personal data. It only triggers other tags. If you have disabled cookies, this will be respected by the tags managed via Tag Manager.
Google may request permission to share product data with other Google products to enable certain features (e.g. easier conversion tracking). Google developers may review aggregated usage data to optimize the product but will not share personal data without your consent. See Google’s usage guidelines for details.

Matomo with Cookies (subject to consent)

Additionally, we offer you the option to consent to a more comprehensive analysis using Matomo. Only if you provide your consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR) will Matomo set cookies on your device. These cookies allow Matomo to recognize returning visitors and thus generate more accurate statistics. In this case, the following data may be collected, among others:

  • Your truncated IP address (e.g., shortened by the first 2 bytes, so that you cannot be uniquely identified),
  • Pages visited on our domain and the duration of each visit,
  • Click paths, interactions, and any conversions (e.g., downloads, form submissions),
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system,
  • Referrer URL (the page from which you arrived at our website),
  • Approximate location data (country/region derived from the IP address).

The cookie-based Matomo analysis helps us in particular to recognize returning users and understand usage patterns over longer periods of time. Even in this mode, your IP address is stored only in anonymized form, and we have activated the “Replace User ID with Pseudonym” feature, which replaces internal Matomo user IDs with non-reversible hash values.

All information collected through Matomo is stored exclusively on our server in Germany/EU and is not shared with any third parties. No data is transferred to third countries, as we self-host Matomo (no Matomo Cloud service).

Right to Object / Opt-Out for Matomo

You can object to web analytics by Matomo at any time. If you do not wish to be tracked by Matomo at all, you can disable this feature here:

Note: If you delete your cookies, the Matomo opt-out cookie will also be deleted. When visiting our website again, you would need to deactivate web analytics once more via the link above.

Providing this opt-out option in our privacy policy ensures that you can exercise your right to object to data processing. Alternatively, you can change or withdraw your previously given consent for Matomo analytics at any time via our cookie settings banner. The legality of the data processing carried out up to the point of withdrawal remains unaffected.
